TANZPRO – Biodanza for Children is a dance program for children up to 12 years of age. It involves imagination, play, movement and dance in a story format set to specific music.
The program can be learned by teachers, parents, carers, psychologists and youth and social workers. After completing modules 1 and 2, teachers and instructors can immediately begin to use the program.
Training in TANZPRO will be offered in Australia in 2020 by psychologists and program development team – Dr Alejandra Villegas (Argentina) and Prof.Dr Marcus Stueck (Germany).
TANZPRO has many benefits for children. It supports them to re-set from over-drive and hyper-vigilance towards emotional regulation, empathy and relaxation. It also addresses behavioural challenges through creative expression that lowers stress hormones and supports children to develop emotional regulation, in the body, at a physiological level.
The programs have successfully been applied, at scale, in education in Germany, France and Latvia and post-natural disasters in Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
